While I initially started Wealth Spring as a one-person business, the plan was always to grow the business and bring more people along on the journey. A growing business and team means improved client service, new perspectives and operational resilience. I’m delighted that Wealth Spring’s first hire is Ashley Smith.

It was clear to me when I first worked with him that Ashley was an asset to any team, a creative thinker and problem solver, and pleasure to work with. Here’s what Ash has to say about joining Wealth Spring:

After spending just over four years at a leading boutique wealth management firm, I recently made the move to Wealth Spring, and what an exciting first month it has been.

My previous role gave me a great foundation in financial planning and client service. During that time, I also had the opportunity to work alongside Elliot, which is where our professional relationship first began. When the opportunity arose to join Wealth Spring as its first employee, it felt like the perfect next step.

One of the biggest reasons for making the move was the chance to help build something from the ground up. I’ve always been fascinated by the start-up world and the energy that comes with creating something new. Wealth Spring’s vision of building a next-generation wealth management firm that is technology-led, data-driven and focused on delivering exceptional client outcomes was something I was eager to be part of.

My role is already proving to be diverse and constantly evolving. While I currently oversee much of the firm’s operations and administration, being part of a growing business means wearing many hats and getting involved in a wide variety of exciting projects. No two days are quite the same, which is one of the things I’m enjoying most.

What has surprised me since joining is just how many great initiatives are underway. There is always something new being developed, improved or explored, and it has been fascinating to gain insight into how a modern wealth management start-up operates behind the scenes. I’m also fortunate to be working from Oru in East Dulwich, a vibrant environment full of like-minded entrepreneurs, innovators and creative businesses.

Most importantly, Wealth Spring’s approach to client care strongly aligns with my own values. Financial planning is about far more than investment performance, charts and numbers. It’s about helping people move closer to financial freedom and achieve the life goals that matter most to them. That focus on providing reassurance, clarity and a sense of progress is what makes the firm different.

As Wealth Spring continues to grow, I’m excited to help build something special while supporting clients on their journey towards a happier, wealthier future.
